Kungälv Kyokushin Karate was founded in the summer of 2009 by Shihan Mikael Andersson and a handful of enthusiasts. In October, the first training session was held in a hall at Mimers Gymnasium. Spring 2010 was hectic as our small club had the privilege of hosting the Swedish National Kyokushin Karate Championships in Kungälv. The event was a great success. At the same time, we gained access to our fine premises in Skomakaren, centrally located in Kungälv (next to Mimershallen). An extensive refurbishment was started by the members themselves. As you can imagine, there is plenty of Kyokushin spirit in our club.
