Wooden Weapons
Wooden Weapons appear in a number of different martial arts. Some are entirely dedicated to weapons training, such as kendo, while others have it as an element of training, including jujutsu and aikido. Kobudo (actually "ryūkyū kobujutsu"), which like karate originates from the island of Okinawa outside Japan, is another good example. Traditionally, karate and Kobudo are practiced together, but today there is great variation between organizations and individual dojos. Most ancient weapons are used in training, e.g. tonfa, sai, nunchaku and bostav. In self-defense training, various weapon dummies are often used, such as knife, pistol and baton dummy.
