Washing instructions for martial arts costumes
We recommend that you wash your new suit at 30 degrees for the first wash to avoid shrinkage, and then at 60 degrees to get it really clean. Beginner suits are thinner and simpler in fabric and are not always pre-washed, which leads to a greater risk of shrinkage, so the washing instructions for these are usually 30 degrees and then 40 degrees. Advanced suits are usually always pre-washed and do not shrink any further, so they should be washable at 60 degrees, but to be on the safe side, wash them at 30 degrees for the first wash and then at 60 degrees.
To prevent discoloration, it is a good idea to regularly soak the suit overnight in water with detergent and a suitable stain remover intended for white textiles. Do not use chlorine!
Belts are not normally washed, but if you need to wash them, do not wash them together with the costume.
Always let your costume drip dry - do not tumble dry it!
