Budo-Nord Empi with Kyokushin/Shinkyokushin embroidery

Budo-Nord Empi is a classic and proven beginner uniform for Japanese martial arts and one of the most popular entry-level uniforms on the market. It is available in both white and black versions.

The uniform is made from a durable blended fabric with a high cotton feel (55% cotton, 45% polyester), offering a soft, lightweight and comfortable fit that is easy to maintain.

Empi is well suited for karate, jujutsu / ju-jitsu and self-defence jujutsu, and is also commonly used in aikido and Shorinji Kempo. The black version is especially popular for ninjutsu (Ninpo Taijutsu), hapkido and kempo.

The uniform features Budo-Nord’s standard cut, designed as an all-round training uniform. The jacket covers the hips, and the pants are wide for maximum freedom of movement, with elastic waistband and drawstring.

When washed at 60°C, jacket and pant length shrink approximately 1–2%, while sleeve length remains unchanged.
