The Budo-Nord Zanshin was originally developed as a karate gi. Budo-Nord Zanshin in black is often used in ju-jutsu, hapkido, kempo, ninjutsu (ninpo tai jutsu) and in other various standing styles which prefer black uniforms. The Zanshin is also appropriate for practicing throws, but it is not originally intended for martial arts training with throws.
We would recommend a more robust suit when practicing styles where the person being thrown puts up resistance.
Budo-Nord Zanshin is a cut according to our standard measurements; the fit is airy and generous for added comfort and movability. The sleeves and legs are a little bit longer than those on our standard suits (see the enclosed sketch). The pants feature an elastic rib and a drawstring at the waist.
The uniform also features details and properties normally found on expensive suits, but the Budo-Nord Zanshin is available at a very affordable price.
There is hardy any reason to consider possible shrinkage when choosing a size from the chart. We recommend that you wash the Zanshin in 60°C (140°F), and at this temperature the length of the pants will shrink approximately 1-2%. The sleeves do not present any noticeable shrinkage.
