Our judo mats are manufactured entirely according to our specifications in one of Europe’s best factories.
Through a long series of tests and with more than 30 years of experience, we have developed the materials that best withstand all the stresses of judo mats. A good judo mat is not soft. A mat that is too soft can damage the knee joint if the foot sinks in and does not follow during twisting movements. In a good judo mat, all pieces are equally firm. The pieces must also of course meet the given dimensions so that a full mat can be laid without risky gaps. Each judo mat is manually inspected before leaving the factory. Approved mats are marked with the stamp “Budo-Nord TATAMI APPROVED”. These mats come with a two-year warranty. Security for you.
Mats can be ordered with colored surfaces and in several different sizes. The most common are 1x1 and 1x2 m.

Our judo mats have been highly appreciated across the country. For example Verdandi in Eskilstuna, Uppsala JK, Borås JK, Sakura JK, Gävle JK, Sundsvalls JK, Stockholm Police, Lugi Judo, GAK Enighet, and many more. They have been used at the following international competitions: NM Judo Eskilstuna, Swedish Judo Open in Lund, SWOP in Malmö, European Judo Championships in Pamplona, British Open, Goodwill Games in Seattle and more. We have also delivered to the City of Stockholm (Farstahallen), Malmö Fritid, Luleå Municipality, Stenungsund Municipality, Bosön Sports Institute, and more. A few years ago we also delivered 800 m² in a special color to Frövi and the Judo High School (Lindesberg Arena), Nacka Dojo.
Internationally, the same mats have been used at the Olympic Games in Judo in Barcelona, Los Angeles, Montreal, and more, and at the World Judo Championships in Basel and Barcelona, among others. The latest major competition was the IJF Judo Masters 2010 in Korea.
The mat’s core consists of recycled polyether foam, 240 kg weight/density, and the production takes place in accordance with the environmental and quality standards DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001.
It is covered with a special patterned vinyl that replicates the original Tatami (traditional rice mat) pattern. The vinyl is reinforced with a nylon thread mesh, which provides very high tear resistance. We stock mats with red and green vinyl. In addition, the following colors are available to order: blue, dark blue, yellow, and light green.
The underside of the mat is covered with an “anti-slip waffle” made of soft rubber. This keeps it in place without additional fastening measures.

The Budo-Nord Judo Mat Tatami is manufactured by BSW, a certified supplier to the IJF (International Judo Federation).
The Budo-Nord Judo Mat Tatami is of high quality down to the smallest detail. All welds on the Budo-Nord Tatami are meticulously handmade to ensure an exact fit, high strength, and complete sealing. This means that no moisture can damage the foam core.
The mat is available in two formats, 1 x 1 meter or 1 x 2 meters, and in 10 colors (green and red are normally in stock).
All pieces are 40 mm thick. All mats are equipped with an “Anti-slip waffle” on the underside. This ensures the mat stays in place on the surface. Due to printing technology, the printed colors may differ slightly from the actual colors.
BUDO-NORD TATAMI is manufactured in an ISO certified factory in central Germany.
Budo-Nord Tatami mats are laminated on the underside with a waffle-patterned anti-slip latex rubber. The waffle pattern creates suction between the material and the floor, ensuring that the mats hardly move, even when exposed to strong vertical forces.
